i4i: Marketing seminars
Business need
Infrastructures for Information (i4i) is an innovative software company. They have developed powerful new technologies that can be difficult to explain, especially to non-technical people. i4i needed assistance in marketing their products to a wider audience, and in making the software understandable.
Alantext solution
I created a series of marketing/informational seminars. These will be delivered in a series of cities, to prospective customers. Each seminar covers:
- Introduction to the use and benefits of structured languages, SGML and XML, which many business and technical people want to understand.
- Explanation of i4i and their unique software.
- Case study of a client successfully using i4i's products.
- Product demonstration.
In addition to the creation of the seminars and PowerPoint presentations, I provided i4i with a plan for organizing and marketing the seminars.
“Alan’s special expertise is in making complex software understandable and accessible to a general audience. We greatly value his assistance in helping us hone our marketing message. The promotional seminars he created are just what we need to communicate our new products.”
Michel Vulpe, Executive Vice President and Founder, i4i.
i4i: Web site review
Business need
i4i had a solid web site, but it was confusing for visitors. There was a combination of business-level information and highly technical details about the software.
Alantext solution
I reviewed the web site to identify the various content pieces that were best split out into two separate streams, accessible from the home page: one stream for business visitors; one stream for technical visitors.
I suggested ways to clarify and simplify product descriptions, concrete examples to illustrate benefits, and ways to make the web content more compelling.
I also wrote a case study describing a client's business problem, the solutions they considered, the implementation of i4i's products, and the resultant benefits.
