the shredding company: Web site

Business need

shredding image

the shredding company provides document shredding and recycling services. They have a remarkable feature that is unique in their business. Video cameras on their mobile shredding trucks transmit a record of the shredding.

the shredding company’s previous web site made no mention of the video surveillance. Moreover, the site did not fit with the client's overall marketing strategy and image.

the shredding company wanted a simple but effective web site to communicate the unique aspects of their service. The client also wanted a way for potential customers to easily provide the information necessary for a quotation, without having to spend a lot of time on the telephone.

Alantext solution

shredding web site

I created a web site to highlight the most important aspects of the client’s service. I rewrote materials provided by the client, and wrote some new content.

The client showed me a photo of an antique safe that he planned to use in a new brochure. I advised him to secure on-line rights for this photo, so that it could be used on the web site. I made the safe photo a central image on the web site for several reasons:

  • The safe photo is strong and graphically interesting
  • It provides visual consistency with the new brochure
  • It represents a number of attributes of the company, such as security and reliability.

Navigation is provided on each page. Meta tags with descriptive keywords were created to facilitate potential customers locating the site via search engines.

Formatting is achieved via Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), a more efficient way of setting font, colour, layout, etc. CSS enables quicker and easier updates, additions and design changes, thus saving the client money. Sites using CSS also load more quickly.

Quotation request form by Alantext

The quote form that clearly structures the information needed by my client in order for him to provide a quote to a potential customer. This ensures that potential customers will supply all the necessary information, without requiring time-consuming phone calls from my client.

“Alantext spent considerable time to completely understand our business and what we wanted to emphasize on our website. This allowed for creative input that enhanced and effectively communicated the message we wanted to promote.”

Thom Moody, President, the shredding company.
