Bottega di Casa Bottega: Bilingual web site
Business need
Bottega di Casa Bottega produces specialty organic foods in the north of Italy. They wanted a web site to introduce their products, both in Italy and in English-speaking markets.
Alantext solution
I created a clean looking design with lots of white space to convey the purity of the organic products. I used large photos so that retail buyers and consumers could see the products.
(Unfortunately Bottega did not have individual product photographs. I had to cut each product from a group photo. I’m encouraging the client to shoot individual products so I can replace the existing photos with better ones.)
Language switching is automated: clicking “english” or “italiano” takes the user to the same page in the other language. This is more user-friendly than many bilingual sites, which force the user back to the home page to restart in the alternate language.
